Ms. Ho Teng Iat Visited the University and Attended the 40th Anniversary and High-quality Development Conference

From November 7th-8th, 2024, Ms. Ho Teng Iat, Deputy Director of the Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Standing Committee Member of the All-China Women's Federation, and Chairman of Ho Tin Industrial Company Limited, and Ms. Huang Yu, Vice President and Secretary General of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai Residents Association in Macao, were invited to visit the university and attend the 40th Anniversary of the Founding of the University and High-quality Development Conference of the university held on November 8th. President Li Lu, Party Secretary Zhang Qing, Vice President Ye Shiping, Deputy Secretary Wang Jun, Chen Zhi, Executive Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the university, as well as Wang Yun, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, and Dong Yifen, Dean of the School of Jia Yang attended the conference and related activities.

On November 7, Ms. Ho Teng Iat was invited to attend the Welcome Dinner for the 40th Anniversary of the Founding of the University and High-quality Development Conference and delivered a speech. Ms. Ho Teng Iat firstly expressed her gratitude to President Li Lu and Secretary Zhang Qing for inviting her to attend the activities of the university's celebrations, and to witness the 40 years' development path of the university with all the other guests, and jointly blessed Shuren University for a better tomorrow. She fondly recalled her father, Ho Tin, and the seniors participated in the establishment of Shuren University under the difficult circumstances of having no building, no teachers, and no funds, reflecting their spirit of devotion to education and always caring about Shuren University. Referring to Ho Tin Library, she was very pleased that the university's first library, which was donated by her father Ho Tin in 1991, has now become the learning center and information center of Shuen University, providing strong support for the academic research and teaching of the university. She sincerely wished Zhejiang Shuren University to embark on a new journey, develop better and better, and create another brilliant future!

On November 8th, Ms. Ho Teng Iat attended the Conference on the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the university. After listening to President Li Lu's keynote speech entitled "Through 40 Years of Development, Shuren Enjoys a Prosperous Future", she expressed sincere congratulations on the achievements of the university, especially on the news that the university had been approved as the master's degree granting institution to be reviewed, and felt sincerely happy for the rapid development of the university.

Ms. Ho Teng Iat has always been very concerned about the development of the university. Since she began to serve as the honorary director of Zhejiang Shuren University in 2019, Ms. Ho has basically come to visit Shuren once a year over the past 3 years. She not only supports the establishment of the “Ho Tin Scholarship”, but also cares a lot about the university's application for master's degree granting qualification, and gives a lot of support and help for the construction and development of the university.
