On June 16, 2023, the "2023 Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macao Private Education Development Forum" and the "Conference on the Establishment of Cross-Straits and Hong Kong and Macao Private Education Research Alliance" were held in Hangzhou, hosted by our university and co-organized by our university's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Private Education Research Center, the School of Management and the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs. The theme of this forum was "the Governance and Sustainable Development of Private Education". More than 50 experts and scholars from Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Macau University of Science and Technology, Cheng Shiu University in Taiwan, Ming Chuan University in Taiwan, Zhejiang Normal University, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and Zhejiang International Studies University attended the forum and the conference on the establishment of the alliance. The conference was presided over by Professor Chen Xinmin, Vice President of our university.

President Li Lu delivered a welcome speech. He pointed out that the purpose of the alliance is to integrate the resources of colleges and universities, enterprises integrating industry and education, education and training institutions and other resources on both sides of the Straits and Hong Kong and Macao, to develop academic, technical and policy research on the common problems encountered during private education management in various regions by combining with characteristic experiences, and strive to achieve win-win regional cooperation and common development through multi-form, multi-carrier and multi-channel exchanges and cooperation.

Jiang Jun, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Professor Wang Chin-Lung, Vice President of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan, and Xu Jingpin, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Research Center of Zhejiang International Studies University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. They fully recognized the importance of this conference in promoting the development of private education and regional cooperation, and expressed their support and expectation for the Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macao Private Education Research Alliance to jointly promote the high-quality development and exchange and cooperation of private universities in future.

Later, President Li Lu, Prof. Wang Chin-Lung, Vice President of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan, Prof. Cheng Shun-Jen, Vice President of Cheng Shiu University in Taiwan, Prof. Leong Man-Wai, Associate Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology, and Prof. Huang Junliang, Associate Vice President of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, jointly unveiled the name board of the Cross-Straits and Hong Kong and Macao Private Education Development Alliance, and presented the certificates of rotating chairpersons and founding members.

The keynote speeches of the forum were presided over by Professor Yan Hong, Dean of the School of Management of our university. Prof. Cheng Shun-Jen, Vice President of Cheng Shiu University in Taiwan, Prof. Leong Man-Wai, Associate Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology, Prof. Zhou Chaocheng, Director of the Department of Discipline Construction and Development Planning of our university, and Prof. Huang Junliang, Associate Vice President of Hong Kong Shue Yan University gave keynote speeches respectively entitled "the Development and Deepening Sustainable Management of USR Supported by Cheng Shiu University". "Innovative Measures of Macau University of Science and Technology for Application-oriented Talent Training in Colleges and Universities", "Current Status, Problems and Advancement of Classified Management in Private Colleges and Universities", and "Traditional Culture Education in Shue Yan-- Taking Chinese Language in the First Year of the University as an Example".
