On the morning of March 13, President Li Lu led a team to visit Hong Kong Shue Yan University. And the team was warmly received by Executive Vice President Hu Fai-chung, Academic Vice President Sun Tien-lun, and Vice Presidents Zhang Shao-qiang, Chen Qian, and Huang Jun-liang of Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
Dr. Hu Fai-chung recalled the friendship between his father, Mr. Hu Hung-lick, the founder of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and Zhejiang Shuren University, and expressed that both universities would further strengthen their cooperation and communication. Vice President Sun Tien-lun introduced the current development status and vision of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, especially the core ideology of the university in the design of curriculum development, i.e. being student-centered, making full use of digital technology and laboratories, offering innovative and quality courses, adopting new teaching methods, and focusing on training talents needed by the industry and society. She said that in the coming years, the university would focus on interdisciplinary majors such as media design and virtual reality technology, applied data science, art, culture and technology and social sciences. Vice President Huang Junliang introduced the teaching management of the university, especially the whole-process control system of education quality.
President Li Lu fondly reviewed the 30 years’ history of friendly exchange between our university and Hong Kong Shue Yan University, introduced the development status and vision of our university in detail, and expressed the desire to deepen cooperation and exchanges with Shue Yan University. Both parties further exchanged views on the cooperation issues reached at the online cooperation meeting in August 2022, had in-depth discussions especially on promoting cooperation in talent training and jointly building a research center for private education, and reached a consensus on jointly organizing an academic seminar on private education research within this year.
Li Lu and other visitors also visited the Neurology Laboratory and the Play Therapy and Practice Laboratory of Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
