In January, 2023, the opening ceremony of the first “Innovative and Experimental Class of New Medicine” of Zhejiang Shuren University was held in Gongchenqiao Campus. Shi Liyun, Dean of the Translational Medicine Research Institute, and members of the teaching team of the experimental class attended the opening ceremony. Forty-two students of this class, who are from the majors of clinical medicine, nursing science, medical examination, biological engineering, ecological engineering of environment, digital media technology and electronic information engineering attended the ceremony via online video.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dean Shi Liyun introduced the significance, development ideas and implementation plan of the “Innovative and Experimental Class of New Medicine”. In line with the national strategy of "Healthy China" and the requirements of the construction of "New Medicine", the “Innovative and Experimental Class of New Medicine” (“Innovative Class” for short) of our university is set up with the aim of training innovative talents with solid theoretical foundation, understanding of cutting-edge interdisciplinary knowledge, spirit of exploration and cross-disciplines background. The “Innovative Class” is jointly established by the Translational Medicine Research Institute and Shulan International Medical College, which is an important measure to reform the talent training mode of the university. In addition, Dean Shi congratulated and encouraged the students who joined the “Innovative Class”, and hoped that the students could study hard, strive to make progress, and constantly improve their professional competence and innovation ability.

The students of the Innovative Class will join the research team of the Translational Medicine Research Institute for systematic research training, and officially start their dream journey of scientific research, and set sail to become "new medical" top talents of high quality of innovative spirit, research literacy and international vision!
