President Li Lu wrote in his editorial message that "the global practice of combating the COVID-19 corroborates the advanced nature of the 'people's health-centred' concept of health advocated in Chinese Medical Encyclopaedia - Social Medicine, and also validates the theory of social determinants of health and the importance of integrating health into all policies and building a health governance system. The book is expected to play a more and better reference role in the comprehensive implementation of the Health China Initiative and the provision of all-round and whole-cycle health services for the people."
