Guo Huawei, secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of Zhejiang Federation of Social Science and Vice Chairman, and his colleagues came to our university for investigation in the afternoon of November 3. More than 30 people including Li Lu, President, and Ye Shiping, Vice President, of the university, principals of CPC Publicity Department, Department of Scientific Research and Social Cooperation, Federation of Social Science of the University and related colleges of liberal arts and teachers from philosophy and social science attended the conference. Principals of related departments and divisions of Zhejiang Federation of Social Science participated in the investigation.
Guo Huawei listened to the introduction to the basic conditions, main features and development conditions of the Federation of Social Science of the university, and introduction to annual work and innovative development of Zhejiang Modern Service Industry Research Center. Participants proposed opinions and suggestions for provincial Federation of Social Science to further strengthen guidance to works of Federation of Social Science of universities.
According to Guo Huawei, universities shall give full play to specialty advantages and talent advantages at the current background, and shall work actively, to promote more theoretical support for our province to accelerate promoting the new era cultural Zhejiang engineering and high-quality development and construction of common prosperity demonstration area, and shall make more contributions to construction of philosophy and social science.
Aiming at the development in humanities and social sciences of the university, Guo Huawei emphasized that firstly, it is necessary to further understand the “14thfive-year” development plan of humanities and social sciences of the university, and combine them with construction of academic degree point, to promote discipline construction with high standard and characteristics. Secondly, it is necessary to further simplify discipline characteristics and advantages, continue strengthening the construction of scientific research platforms of high standard, sufficiently motivate enthusiasm of researchers, to form good scientific research atmosphere and product more high-quality scientific research achievements.Thirdly, it is necessary to further emphasize talent team construction, and improve the talent introduction and cultivation mechanism, to build high-standard social science talent team. Fourthly, it is necessary to further play the connecting role of the Federation of Social Science of the university and clarify requirements and demands of experts and scholars, to further improve the awareness of providing services to scholars and the society. It reflects responsibilities and values of the Federation of Social Science of the university by strengthening service functions, so as to strengthen scholars’ centripetal force to the Federation of Social Science.
According to President Li Lu, the university will further improve the construction of the Federation of Social Science and give full play to the bridging and connecting role of the Federation of Social Science, to assist in the promotion of the new era cultural Zhejiang engineering and the construction of the common prosperity demonstration area. In addition, Zhejiang Federation of Social Science is expected to continue helping, guiding and supporting the development of humanity and social science of the university.
