The Asia-Pacific International Academic Conference on Digital Industry and Safety Culture 2026 was held at the Yangxunqiao Campus of Zhejiang Shuren University from July 2nd to 5th, 2026. The conference was jointly organized by the Korean Society of Safety Culture and Zhejiang Shuren University, and hosted by the School of Economics and Management, the Institute of Digital Management Technology, and other units. Centered on the theme “Digital Industry and Safety Culture: Governance Innovation for a Resilient Asia-Pacific,” the conference brought together nearly 60 scholars and industry representatives from universities, research institutions, and enterprises in China and the Republic of Korea.

Against the backdrop of emerging trends in global security governance in the digital economy, as well as the increasing interconnectedness of industrial and supply chains across the Asia-Pacific region, the rapid evolution of digital technologies, profound demographic changes, and the ongoing green transition, the conference served as an international forum for exchanges on safety culture and digital industry security governance across China, the Republic of Korea, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. During the conference, participants explored key issues including safety culture development in the context of digital industry development, intelligent safety technologies, data governance, population health security, and supply chain resilience through a program of visits to digital technology enterprises, opening ceremony, keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, thematic parallel sessions, and visits to laboratories and practical training facilities.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Wan Guowei, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Zhejiang Shuren University, noted that the conference provided an important opportunity to deepen academic dialogue between China and the Republic of Korea and promote interdisciplinary collaboration and talent development. Professor PARK JONG YOUNG, President of the Korean Society of Safety Culture, emphasized that the development of a safety culture should extend beyond traditional workplace safety to encompass broader areas such as the operation of public institutions, data governance, and cross-regional collaboration. Professor Yan Hong, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, emphasized that, in the era of the digital economy, safety culture has evolved into a governance culture focused on enhancing resilience, promoting development, and safeguarding the future.

During the conference, the Institute of Digital Management Technology and the Korean Society of Safety Culture signed a cooperation agreement under which they will pursue sustained collaboration in digital security governance, the development of joint research platforms, and student exchange programs.

The conference marked an important milestone in Zhejiang Shuren University’s efforts to advance internationalization and deepen academic collaboration between China and the Republic of Korea. Looking ahead, the University will continue to promote transnational collaborative research and collaborative innovation across industry, academia, and research, with a focus on digital industry security, safety culture governance, and supply chain resilience, contributing to a safer, smarter, more resilient, and more sustainable future for the Asia-Pacific region.
