Delegation from the Ministry of Education of Singapore Visited Our University

On the afternoon of May 12, a delegation led by Tey Kah Hwee, Director of the Educational Technology Learning Partnerships Division of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, visited the Gongchenqiao Campus of our university. President Li Lu and representatives from relevant functional departments warmly received the delegation and accompanied them during the visit.

President Li Lu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the development history and future vision of our university. He noted that, as one of the first full-time private undergraduate institutions in China, our university has, over the past 40 years, focused on cultivating application-oriented talents, serving people’s livelihood sectors, and promoting distinctive development in fields such as new medicine and computational medicine. President Li also shared our university’s exploration and practices in international education cooperation and digital transformation in education. He emphasized that although artificial intelligence is profoundly reshaping educational models, critical thinking remains a core human strength and an essential objective of education.

Director Tey Kah Hwee expressed appreciation for our university’s warm hospitality and highly recognized our university’s achievements in application-oriented talent cultivation and educational digitalization. She expressed expectations for deeper exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in educational technology and smart campus development. The two sides also held discussions on topics including the application of educational technologies and innovation in talent cultivation models, and exchanged commemorative gifts.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Information Technology Achievements Cultural Corridor, the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and the new-generation smart classrooms. The guests gained a detailed understanding of our university’s achievements in educational digitalization, experienced firsthand the innovative teaching models empowered by AI technologies, and highly praised the effectiveness of our university’s smart campus development.

The visit of the delegation from the Ministry of Education of Singapore represents an important initiative by our university to deepen international educational exchanges and promote innovation in “AI + Education.” Moving forward, our university will continue to focus on the digital transformation of education, strengthen international exchange and cooperation, further advance the cultivation of application-oriented talents, and contribute the strength of Zhejiang Shuren University to the modernization of education.
