Recently, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology announced the list of approved projects for the 2026 Provincial Natural Science Foundation and Soft Science Research Program. Our university has successfully secured funding for 12 projects, reflecting a steady growth in the number of approved proposals. Specifically, 9 projects were approved under the Provincial Natural Science Foundation, representing a 45% increase from the previous year, and 3 projects received funding under the Soft Science Research Program, achieving a new breakthrough.
Among the Natural Science Foundation projects, Professors He Luye and Wang Zhenhua have respectively secured exploratory project grants, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence with biomaterials and novel structural engineering. Additionally, seven young faculty members, including Zhu Luwen, were awarded the Young Scientists Fund. Their research spans various cutting-edge fields, such as biomedicine, energy materials, and environmental remediation, showcasing the innovative vitality of our young research talents.
On the aspect of soft science research, the projects led by Professors Wu Weifen and Dai Linli focus on AI innovation mechanisms and policies for attracting overseas talent, respectively. Notably, the Office of Scientific Research, in collaboration with the Keqiao Science and Technology Innovation Center, successfully obtained a soft science project grant on its first application. This achievement marks a significant deepening and expansion of university-local cooperation and research funding channels.
