Recently, Professor Zhu Zhu, Head of Internationalization of the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture of the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom, visited our university. She was accompanied by Wang Wudong, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of International Exchange Committee of Shanghai Association of Higher Education, and Hu Yun, Director of International Exchange Center of the Association. During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the details of the dual-degree programs, including curriculum alignment, mutual recognition of credits, student selection, and talent cultivation mode. Taking into account the academic characteristics of different schools, the two parties preliminarily outlined multiple modes of cooperation, such as the “3+1” and “3.5+1” mode, to ensure a seamless integration of learning experiences and a comprehensive enhancement of students’ capabilities across both institutions. In addition, they also explored potential cooperation in faculty exchange and scientific research, aiming to further strengthen the partnership between the two universities.

This exchange symposium laid a solid foundation for future collaboration on dual-degree programs. Both parties expressed their commitment to taking this meeting as a starting point to accelerate the cooperation process, refine program details, and work towards early implementation. The goal is to provide students from both universities with greater access to high-quality international educational resources and development opportunities, and to jointly promote internationalization in education in both universities. At present, our university has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Aberdeen. The two institutions plan to carry out in-depth cooperation in undergraduate-postgraduate integrated programs and dual-degree programs in the near future.
