On the afternoon of April 19, President Li Lu led a visiting group to visit the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Belarus in China. Wang Xianju, Director of the Belarusian Research Center, Wang Yun, Director of the Office of International Affairs, Li Jianliang, Dean of the School of Humanities and Foreign Languages and Executive Deputy Director of the Belarusian Research Center, and Dr. Shou Jiarui of the Belarusian Research Center participated in the visiting activities.

At first, President Li Lu and other visitors visited the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, where Consul Yakhyaev Bobirjon warmly received the visiting group. Consul Bobirjon extended warm welcome and sincere thanks to President Li Lu and other visitors for their visit. He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, China and Uzbekistan carried out cooperation in various fields and deepened their friendship. He hoped that both countries would enhance the cooperation on education, culture, economy and science and technology, and to communicate with and learn from each other, especially for learning China's experience in poverty alleviation and education and technology development, and the universities in China and Uzbekistan could cooperate with each other on the programs of cooperative education, the promotion of Chinese language education, and the joint establishment of research institutes.

President Li Lu briefly introduced the development of Zhejiang Shuren University to Consul Yakhyaev Bobirjon and shared with him the development and experience of Zhejiang as an economically and educationally strong province. On learning from China's experience in poverty alleviation, he introduced the experience of Zhejiang in building the model zones of common prosperity and focusing on helping 26 counties in mountainous areas, and explained the Zhejiang's “Spirit of Four ‘Thousands’” (to travel through thousands of mountains and rivers, try thousands of methods, speak thousands of words, and overcome thousands kinds of hardships) introduced by Premier Li Qiang at the press conference, which were the reasons why Zhejiang became an economically strong province. He pointed out that our university could cooperate with the universities in Uzbekistan in the field of international education of Chinese language, art, architecture, environment, and computer, and discuss the cooperation on scientific research and social training.

And then, President Li Lu and other visitors visited the Embassy of Belarus in China. Mr. Yury Senko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, met the visiting group, and Counsellor Rabtsau Yauheni, and First Secretary Podkovyrov Aleksandr attended the meeting. Ambassador Yury Senko firstly thanked President Li Lu for his special visit, introduced the friendly exchanges between China and Belarus, and made a detailed introduction on the exchange activities in the field of education. He pointed out that the educational exchange between China and Belarus was not interrupted due to the epidemic and both parties actively promoted mutual communication through online activities. And he praised the fruitful achievements on exchange and cooperation between Shuren University and the universities in Belarus and looked forward to more new cooperative relations and programs between both parties.

President Li Lu thanked Ambassador Yury Senko for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet the visiting group and support the work of our university. He introduced the characteristics of cooperation between our university and the universities and research institutions of Belarus in the fields of scientific research cooperation, talent training, teacher training and academic exchange since 2013. He also introduced the "Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum" jointly organized by our university and the Belarusian State University for four times. Li Lu pointed out that, the communication between our university and the universities of Belarus was strongly supported and promoted by Academician Sergey Ablameyko of the Belarus State University. Our circle of friends has been continuously expanded, and so has the cooperation on scientific research. Under the leadership of Director Wang Xianju, the Belarusian Research Center has also made gratifying achievements in the studies on the politics, economy, and culture of Belarus.

Ambassador Senko spoke highly of the exchange between our university and Belarus, and had an in-depth discussion with President Li Lu on the promotion of China-Belarus educational exchange and cooperation, the sustainability of Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum, China-Belarus scientific research cooperation, and the communication between Chinese and Belarusian entrepreneurs. And he said that he would strongly support the cooperation between our university with Belarus, not only on youth forums, student exchange, and educational cooperation programs, but also on economy, science and technology, culture and art. Finally, President Li Lu thanked the Ambassador again for his support and advice, and said that our university would further enhance the communication between China and Belarus in depth and promote the cooperation in various fields.
