On May 10, 2026, Mr. Alexander Vladimirovich Shevchenko, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Shanghai, paid his first official visit to our university. President Li Lu, Vice President Chen Jun, and representatives from relevant schools and departments attended the exchange activities.


During the visit, the Consul General toured the Ho Tin Library and gained an overview of the university’s campus development, institutional structure, and educational profile. During the subsequent symposium, President Li Lu delivered a welcome address, introducing the university’s distinctive features and its cooperative achievements with Belarus. A promotional video in Russian was also presented. President Li noted that, relying on platforms such as the Belarus Research Center, the university has made significant progress in introducing experts, facilitating faculty-student exchanges, and building joint laboratories. He expressed the university’s commitment to further deepening pragmatic cooperation in areas such as information technology, biological and environmental engineering, and the humanities.


The Consul General highly commended the university’s accomplishments in international exchange and cooperation and expressed his willingness to facilitate substantive collaboration between Belarusian universities and our university, with a view to promoting exchanges among young students. The two sides also conducted in-depth discussions on a range of topics, including the Fifth China-Belarus Forum, executive training programs for enterprise managers, and student exchange initiatives.

This visit further strengthened the foundation for China-Belarus cooperation in culture, education, science, and technology. Our university will continue to advance educational collaboration with countries along the Belt and Road.
